6 months down.........

True it is, I haven't written on the blog for quite some time...

It's certainly no easy feat running a salon and teaching full time, but i'm here, on the other side of 6 months.

Well, I wish I could say that so much has happened in that time, in fact, it has taken this time to embed in and dig in the heels!  Somethings have changed, however, maybe listing them will put a little perspective on the last 6 months...:

Part of the new staff room.. partly finished!
Wedding's @ Capelli
- We have re-decorated the staff room, skimmed the walls, given it a lick of paint, tiled around the sink and put in a work surface for the girls to have somewhere to...well...use I suppose!

- Introduced loyalty cards, 3 stamps and you get £5 off, 6 stamps, £10 off!  Going down a storm with the clients!

Daniel's photo of us!
- The Capelli wedding package, including silver, gold and platinum, great deal for any bride!

- Developed a partnership with local photography Daniel Torridon after we found a photo he'd taken on the day we took over!  Spooky! http://danieltorridon.com
Valentine's Day decorations

 - Recovered the waiting area seat from barbershop red leather to luxurious silver velvet material.

Our beautiful purple walls!
- The walls are no longer one shade of magnolia (very dull) but now sport a rather fetching purple along the top edge, really lifts the place!

- Installed a TV in the back of the salon on the wall, this acts as back ground noise, so far, we've had positive comments from clients.

Blow dry bar!
- Introduced a 'Blow Dry Bar'.  This is a where you can pop in, any time, and have a keratin blow dry treatment with a styled finish of your choice...we've named all the styles after cocktails!

- Opened a facebook page...twitter account and generally got ourselves 'online'.
Loyalty card

- Installed a new appointment system with capabilities of emailing, texting and keeping up-to-date with information re. the clients, which is great for marketing.

- Began to raise the profile of products we sell, including incentive schemes for the stylists.
Product of the week board!
- Introduced 'product of the week' in the salon, whereby one of the staff recommend a product to clients.

- Brought in semi-perminent colours 'directions', including colours like tulip, silver and violet!
Directions colours

Well...when you put it like that, I suppose we've done quite a lot!
